Professional Development Framework for Transfusion Practitioners and the Supportive and Assistive Workforce.
The Professional Development Framework for Transfusion Practitioners and the Supportive and Assistive Workforce, developed through the Transfusion 2024 (T2024) strategy, provides a structured approach to support individuals, managers and organisations in identifying the knowledge, skills and professional development needs of the transfusion practice workforce across all career stages, roles and healthcare settings.
Developed with and for the transfusion practice workforce, the Framework was co-produced with transfusion practitioners, professional bodies and key stakeholders to ensure that it reflects the realities of practice and addresses the workforce's needs, challenges and aspirations. It supports professional development, workforce capability, career progression, succession planning, and the delivery of high-quality, safe transfusion patient care.
The Framework is now being implemented through the Transfusion Transformation Programme to support workforce capability, career development and safe transfusion practice across healthcare settings.
