A wide range of serological techniques are available to aid in the safe delivery of compatible components to patients. From the basics of blood grouping to complex antibody investigation the aim of this section is to equip blood transfusion staff with the knowledge to locate and match suitable components to patients whilst highlighting and following national guidance. Provision of components in various situations as well as referral to specialist laboratories is also featured.
